On August 2009 we held a one day event, where we promoted the second session of the World Youth Parliament, with the goal of gathering a lot of young Chileans to get involved in Fernando Rielo’s proposal.

A few activities of the day were: first contact dynamic activities (to break the ice and as a personal introduction), exhibition of the WYP project, exposition of a video about the plenary session in Rome, presentation of the work realized in Chile up to now, testimonies of many participants, and to end with the impressions of everyone, together with some coffee, cookies and snacks.

Young people were very impressed and motivated over this innovative proposal of creating a space to reflect and gather themes of great interest for themselves.

This activity gave us courage to continue spreading the idea with even greater emphasis; inviting more and more young people to join our work sessions, with the aim of organizing more days for promoting the WYP, with the hope that many young Chileans could go to New York, next year.

YOUTH ARTISTIC EXPRESSION FAIR

In September 2009 we were invited to join the 10th edition of the Youth Artistic Expression Fair, organized by the youth ministry of the Santiago’s west Vicar area.

“Meeting you was our best treasure” with this motto over 1000 young people were convened to experience, through artistic expressions and through all the youth ministers in the table stands, the joyful encounter of meeting Jesus Christ.

That was, for us, an ideal occasion to introduce the World Youth Parliament, the youngsters’ expressions through open and respectful dialogue, sustained by our experience as young members of the parliament.

Our table stand received a huge turnout of people; and the young people seemed to be very receptive and enthusiastic…no doubt that our participation in this fair was a source of great happiness, unity and communion, of this promotion initiative of the many youth ministries that attended.
